If you’re an Entergy Louisiana residential customer in Bienville, Claiborne, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine or Webster Parish and money is tight, you may be able to get a one-time $100 credit on your bill. United Way of Northwest Louisiana started taking applications at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The money comes from a $2 million statewide investment by Entergy Louisiana, and United Ways across the state are handing it out. United Way says funding is limited and expected to go quickly, and applying doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a credit.

Who it’s for

The program is for households in financial hardship, including families below the poverty line and what United Way calls ALICE households (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). Those are working families who earn too much for most assistance programs but still struggle to cover basics, KTBS reported.
