There are two days left to see the Marshall High School fall art show at the Michelson Museum of Art. Work by 44 students from Art 1 through 4 and Advanced Placement classes is hanging in one of the museum’s main galleries through Saturday, Oct. 31, the Marshall News Messenger reported.
The show is built around the Day of the Dead. “The students’ focus this year is on doing animals with the Day of the Dead, so not just the regular sugar skulls, but Animalia as part of the theme,” said Johnna Rena’ Guillory, the school’s visual arts teacher. She and fellow art teacher Todd Camplin taught the students about the holiday’s traditions before they started work.
Camplin said the school has shown student art with the Michelson every year since 2014, usually in the hallway gallery. “This is our first show in one of the main galleries,” he said.
