Newhaven Recovery Lodge, the residential addiction treatment center at 2301 Champagnolle Road in El Dorado, will close Monday, Nov. 30, SouthArkansasNow reported.
“Newhaven announces with deep regret that The Lodge will close its doors on November 30, 2026,” the organization said in an announcement Thursday, Oct. 29. “Despite efforts to facilitate the transition to new ownership or management, the planned takeover will not move forward.”
That is a turnaround from Oct. 5, when Newhaven said it would step away from running the Lodge on Jan. 1, 2027, and a new organization, Recovery Lodge of El Dorado, would take over. At the time, Newhaven said services and staff would stay the same.
The new announcement did not say what arrangements will be made for patients now in treatment or how many employees could be affected, according to SouthArkansasNow.
The Lodge began operating in 2024. It offers residential treatment and medically managed withdrawal for people with substance use disorders, plus counseling, family therapy and aftercare planning. Its website lists 870-865-7908 for questions.
