The Shreveport Police Department says its officers made 31 arrests involving impaired driving or outstanding DWI-related warrants between Oct. 1 and Oct. 14, 2026, according to a department release dated Oct. 14.
By the numbers
We counted the charges listed in the release:
- 1 arrest on a fourth-offense DWI charge
- 2 arrests on third-offense DWI charges
- 5 arrests on second-offense DWI charges
- 3 arrests on outstanding warrants that involved DWI and other traffic offenses
Of the other 20 arrests, 19 were on first-offense DWI charges. One was listed as DWI with no offense number. Many came with other traffic charges, such as improper lane use, driving the wrong way on a one-way street or driving without lights. Two arrests also involved fleeing an officer.
Our policy: We don’t name people who have been arrested. An arrest is an accusation, not a conviction. The full police release, which includes names, is linked below.
What police are asking
“Impaired driving puts everyone on the road at risk,” the release says. SPD says it will keep up its enforcement and closes with: “Plan a sober ride. Never get behind the wheel impaired.”
